LIFE LONG LEARNING
Our innovative approach to education and learning fosters children becoming independent learners in a well-supported and encouraging environment. This will ensure that your child will have the skills necessary to transition through their educational journey and be equipped for our ever changing fast paced world.
At the Early Learning Hub we acknowledge the culture and history of the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, especially the Dharawal and Gundungurra people, who are the traditional owners of the land in which our service is situated.
Our innovative approach to education and learning fosters children becoming independent learners in a well-supported and encouraging environment. This will ensure that children will have the skills necessary to transition into their educational journey and be equipped for our ever changing fast paced world. Our philosophy is built around engaging children in real life learning experiences based around STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in a sustainable environment to foster lifelong learning and enrich children’s awareness and appreciation of their environment.
We feel it is vital to immerse children in activities to drive their future passion for exploration and learning in life. Our creative natural play based learning approach and strong emphasis on incorporating innovative STEM based technologies will engage children in higher order thinking and encourage ongoing exploration through the design process. We offer a safe environment of high quality standards and incorporate the Early Years Learning Framework into our curriculum.
Our curriculum is developed in a way that is gender neutral, inclusive and shows no bias, offers multiculturalism and shows diversity as equal value. We offer full inclusion of all children and their families and provide honest open communication. We respect their rights and opinions and encourage them to become involved in the development and delivery of our unique educational program. Our children are encouraged to express themselves through creative and performing arts, a core aspect in their learning and development, nurturing imagination, exploration, developing problem solving, creative thinking and motor skills.
natural outdoor environment.
Our natural outdoor learning environment promotes play based learning and measured risk taking within a mixed-age sustainable natural environment. Our children have the opportunity to grow, care and cook using herbs, vegetables and fruit from our gardens through cooking experiences and our outdoor fire pit. Studies have shown children who grow their own food are more likely to eat fruits and vegetables and show higher levels of knowledge about nutrition (Waliczek, & Zajicek, 2006). They are also more likely to continue healthy eating habits throughout their lives (Morris & Zidenberg-Cherr, 2002).
